Tai Chi

“TAI CHI CHUAN IS BORN FROM WU JI, STATE OF MOVEMENT AND REST, IT IS THE MOTHER OF YIN AND YANG. WHEN IN MOVEMENT, IT DIVIDES, UNITE WHEN AT REST”.

The Classics of Tai Chi Chuan- Wang Zongyue

This martial art at the origin of its history was influenced by millenary breathing exercises, the imitation of animal movements, traditional medicine, in its philosophical aspect, thoughts of Taoism, Confucianism and Zen Buddhism in the Martial aspect.

Today it is considered one of the treasures of Chinese culture and civilization, we practice this martial art at the Bodhidharma Institute in various schools of philosophy around the world.

Therefore Tai Chi is a martial art based on the philosophy of non-aggression, it is passive and not active, it teaches never to attack before, but to anticipate your reaction to the attack, adopting smooth, harmonious and slow movements.

Its diffusion is due to the benefits acquired from the practice in terms of personal, physical and mental health and in the self-healing processes for many disorders of the organism. The practice of Tai Chi requires concentration, attention, memory, because the most important thing is the Central balance from which each step and martial gestures are born, each slow circular movement and with multiple variations. The postures are not totally relaxed (YIN), nor totally tense (Yang), we seek to combine relaxation and awareness for the balance of the opposites YIN and YANG, all parts of the body are asked to work together with the muscles, joints and breathing that happens in a natural way integrated with the movements. The mind directs the execution of the body’s movements, favoring concentration, providing improvements in blood circulation and motor coordination, reducing the level of stress. Practice encourages character-related qualities such as perseverance, patience, tolerance, which results in a sense of well-being and serenity.
